Origin of US OPEN
The US Open is a hard-court tennis competition founded 141 years ago! It starts on the last Monday in August and lasts for two weeks until September, overlapping the U.S. Labor Day holiday on the weekend. The competition is one of the oldest tennis tournaments in the world, originally known as the U.S. National Championships. Back in August 1881, that was the first game of men’s singles and men’s doubles.
